Naomi Doolette

Sustainability Officer, City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters

Naomi Doolette, in her role as Sustainability Officer at the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, has been instrumental in implementing a Circular Procurement Pilot Project across the organisation and bringing about behavioural change. She has worked in waste management and education since 2014 in a range of paid and volunteer positions including local government. Naomi holds a Bachelor in Environmental Management and a Certificate IV in Project Management.

Loren Mercier

Environmental Management Officer, City of Charles Sturt

Loren Mercier is the Environmental Management Officer (waste and recycling) at the City of Charles Sturt. With over 12 years’ experience within in the waste management sector, Loren has been instrumental in establishing and implementing of a range of strategic waste and recycling programmes for council. Some of her more recent projects include the revamped food waste recycling program, managing the establishment of new suit of waste and recycling contracts and the Circular Procurement Pilot Project. 

Paul Luckman

Industry Relationship Development Manager, QLD Uni

Dr Paul Luckman is the Industry Relationship Development Manager at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Queensland, and helped to establish UQ Plastics. His expertise spans biopolymer materials research and development, engineering research, research and development, chemistry and materials science. His passion is in progressing the circular economy and providing systematic, holistic solutions to wicked problems, such as the plastic problem.

Meagan Wheeler-Rogers

Program Coordinator, University of Queensland

Meagan Wheeler-Rogers from the University of Queensland (UQ) has been invaluable in the establishment of UQ Plastics. Working closely with the waste industry for the last decade, and developing the Queensland Pollution Reduction Plan, has provided her with a holistic understanding of the plastic problem and the range of solutions that need to be implemented to address it. 

Brian Johnston

Environmental Services Officer, KESAB

Brian has a Masters in Psychology and certificates in Waste Auditing and waste education. He has a real passion for waste management and resource recovery with over 11 years’ experience in the sector. This has included working in consulting and sales and marketing roles and as Branch Support Officer for the Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (SA Branch). Brian currently works for KESAB fulfilling a number of roles as the first point of contact for KESABs clients and the South Australian public to supporting the team with auditing, project planning and report writing.

Diarmaid O'Mordha

Quality  & Sustainability  Manager, Endeavour Drinks Group

Diarmaid is a qualified industrial microbiologist and drinks industry professional with over 20 years experience in quality and production management both here and in Ireland. As Group Quality and Sustainability Manager at Endeavour Drinks, Diarmaid is responsible for ensuring the highest standards for safety, quality, compliance and sustainability of the products sold through Dan Murphy's and BWS are maintained. As chair of the Wine Industry Sustainable packaging Alliance (WISPA), Diarmaid has been instrumental in leading a collaborative industry working  group to improve packaging sustainability across the wine supply chain. Diarmaid has worked in partnership with APCO to develop the Endeavour Drinks Sustainable Packaging Guidelines. He was the recipient of the inaugural APCO Sustainability Champion award for 2019.

Andrew Hutcheon

Principal Advisor- Circular Economy, Green Industries SA

Andrew is based in Mt Gambier in the SE region of SA and for over ten years now has been Green Industry SA’s Principal Advisor- Industry Sustainability & Circular Economy. Andrew has interacted both strategically and operationally with many iconic regional and metropolitan SA businesses and organisations who are motivated to investigate and consider the value of improved sustainability performance and of moving to a more circular economy business model. Amongst several other qualifications, Andrew holds a Masters in Sustainability Management. He was the key lead on the influential 2017 South Australian report which was the first of its kind in Australia to endeavour to quantify the potential benefits of the circular economy at a State level. He believes localised action is paramount to genuine change and is now pursuing, on behalf of GISA, the progression and uptake of an applied circular economy at a sub-regional level in Mt Gambier, SA.
